Darko Zeljkovic is a Bosnian born; Belleville, Canada based photojournalist. Photojournalism is not a job for Darko but his lifestyle and he feels like he lives his dream.

Willing to work and be based anywhere in the world Darko's passion for photojournalism has led him to freelance national and international work for such publications as the New York Times. Winner of several national awards including several Canadian Press awards for news coverage and a runner up position for Photojournalist of the Year (2001) as well as Feature Picture of the Year (Ontario Newspaper Awards, 2001) Zeljkovic is also a sought after contributor to magazines such as Maclean's, Outdoor Canada, Canadian Business Magazine, L'Actualite and the Walrus.

Darko's most recent work includes the drug trade in Afghanistan and several embeds with the Canadian and US military in Afghanistan and Bosnia - including several embedded tours with the US Army "hunting" the Taliban in the mountains of Eastern Afghanistan for the New York Times.

His passion for teaching and sharing his photography skills is shown through his natural talent for mentoring. He is a regular guest speaker and runs workshops at Loyalist College and in fall of 2005 presented at the international photojournalism conference in Toronto. Darko's other main love is his five-year-old daughter, Anastasija who always welcomes him home with wide-open arms.
